Extended Profile
Hudsons Coffee shop has closed. Unfortunately, this means that the OBCZ does
not exist anymore.
Plymouth’s first Official Book Crossing Zone (OBCZ) was opened on the 8th August 2005 under the kind auspices of Plymouth Hudson’s Gourmet Coffee House.
Hudson’s have been kind enough to grant us space for a shelf of books here in Plymouth. They also have Book Crossing shelves in their Coffee Houses in Leamington Spa and Birmingham.
Please feel free to leave books on the Book Crossing shelf. If you wish, you can join Book Crossing (it’s free!) and register the books yourself. This way, you will be able to track the books and see what happens to them.
On the other hand, you may wish to remain anonymous. That’s absolutely fine too! In this instance, I will pick up your (kindly) donated books and register them in the name of the Plymouth Hudson’s shelf.
In either case, please journal the book that you have taken from the shelf. You do not have to write a Sunday Independent review; just telling us if you liked it is enough! Please also tell us what you plan to do with the book. Are you going to return it to Hudson’s shelf? Or are you going to leave it somewhere far more exciting?!
Hudson’s is a super company for getting so involved with Book Crossing, so I would like to plug them a little, if you don’t mind! They are not just a Coffee House, in that they also serve gourmet food. They possess meeting rooms, handily equipped with Wi-Fi wireless internet connection and offer corporate catering as well.
My bookcrossing name is Mytilus. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to PM me either as Mytilus, or though the Hudson’s OBCZ site.
