I read this book last month. All I really knew about Dali's artwork were his melting clocks, and those are not shown in this book! So I did actually learn a whole lot about his paintings and some of the details I surely would never have noticed on my own.

I know this is a book for kids, but I am glad to have read it!

I am a sucker for alphabet books. I yoinked this book off the table and put it in my bag before I even ordered food. Already trying to determine what to do with it next.

I agree with KateKintail -- my knowledge of Dali mainly involved melting clocks. I was actually impressed at the scope of his talents. The portrait of his sister is gorgeous and the one of the bread in the basket was really solid -- the rest of them were more of his surreal stuff. I did get a little bit distracted because the text kept referring to "this exhibition" -- per the notes at the end it is from a museum exhibit in London at the Hayward Gallery in 1994. This is an excellent way to introduce children to an artist that many adults find difficult.
