The part of this book that has stuck with me the longest is when Nafisi is a student and one of the male students complains that the women are too scantily clad, even though they wear headscarves that cover their hair entirely and robes that cover their bodies to the ground. He complains that he can see a little bit of the hollow of each woman's throat, and it's sexually exciting to him, and they should cover it up. And the school administrators force them to. And that's what I think of whenever I hear that young women dress too scantily and should be subject to dress codes in schools.
