When you open the book, you'll notice it begins with 'stream of consciousness' thinking. This is the first clue to where the author got the title of the book. I don't know how Mr. Lodge does it, but he writes the way most of us think (at least, how I think).
It's written in both first and third-person, which also adds interest. This book is smart, funny, poignant, and a quick read.
