Death of a Charming Man (Hamish Macbeth Mysteries, No. 10)

Read my first book in the Hamish Macbeth series a while ago and just loved it -- so completely original. Looking forward to reading another.
If you love Hamish MacBeth, then this is a great book for you. There is a lot of attention paid to his love life in this one -- specifically, his abortive near-engagement to Priscilla -- and less to the mystery, but it was still fun. I think my favorite thing about Hamish is that he has been able to figure out what he needs to make him happy: his animals, his little cozy cottage, a job that pays a decent wage but is not overly demanding, and a Highland village to live in. And he is willing to do as little as he can to hang onto that, even if the rest of the world doesn't understand. I think it is this groundedness that makes him able to read others so well and solve the mysteries he does.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
"A book is a mysterious object, I said, and once it floats out into the world, anything can happen. All kinds of mischief can be caused, and there's not a damned thing you can do about it. For better or worse, it's completely out of your control." -- Paul Auster
