Paperback copy of Voltaire's philosophic classic. Candide, a naive optimist, struggles to maintain his belief that "all is for the best in this best of all possible worlds" while life offers all evidence to the contrary.

I saw the book on a coffee table at IKEA Burbank. At first it looked like part of the display, but then I noticed the post-it note on it, which said to pick up the book and look inside.

ok, the above entry was me, but I thought I'd do this again now that the website finally allowed me to register. I actually found the book back on August 13 and I released it at the Wild Oats Market in Santa Monica on Sunday afternoon, January 18.

Journal Entry 5 by lexana from Culver City, California USA on Friday, March 5, 2004
found in the wild oats employee break room.
I read it for a few days thinking it was another employee who left it there for someone to read. but then I saw that no one else was reading it so I took it home.
I will release it on march 5th,on a table at the Coffee bean and Tea leaf on the corner of Venice and Motor avenues, in Culver City California.

CAUGHT IN SANTA MONICA CALIFORNIA USA

Journal Entry 6 by lexana from Culver City, California USA on Friday, December 17, 2004
I left the book at the coffee bean on Venice, but no one took it.
so I took it back home.
A few months later,
My friend saw the book and he said
"Hey, this book is one of my favorites".
So,he took it with him when he moved to Michigan.
I hope he and the book are well.
But he has it in his private collection....now...in Detroit.
Hopefully He and the book will come back to Los Angeles.
Everyone cross your fingers.......
