An entertaining series of short stories exploring Asimov's future world of intelligent machines and robots. Whilst many stories explore the potentials, limitations, dangers and surprises of AI, the focus on human characters and their reactions to robots is equally interesting. Various stories expound and explore Asimov's famous 'three laws of robots', testing their limits and musing on their subtleties. Selected characters are explored across different stories, enabling the depiction of change over time, and the psychological development of the characters themselves. The most valuable aspect of the stories is their social commentary and warnings for the future. An important read for any fans of sci-fi, or those interested in where advances in technology are taking us as individuals and a society.
