Purchased from Big Ben Bookshop in Prague together with another French's thriller.

Synopsis from the Penguin books site:

"Samantha Laschen, a doctor specializing in post-traumatic stress, has moved to the Essex coast with her small daughter, Elsie to escape the problems of her London life. Or so she thinks.

Fiona Mackenzie barely survived the savage, murderous attack which left her parents dead. Now she is in need of sanctuary and the police see Sam as the ideal person to offer her a safe house. Already overburdened with the demands of a new job and her mercurcial lover Danny, Sam reluctantly agrees to take her in. But as Fiona makes her way into the hearts of her hosts, Sam discovers that the risks she has forseen are nothing to the terrifying danger she actually faces."

It took me pretty long to finish this book, I felt like reading something else there in between and did so too. Maybe there was too much psychological suspense to my stressed mind at this time. There is a constant feeling of underlying threat in this story and that gets into your mind. For me that is also so to say the trademark of Nicci French. Not the best French I have read, but not the worst either.

Bookgeo brings quite often thrillers to our regular BC-meetings and it seems they most likely end up in my hands. :D

This has been sitting on my shelf for too long. I've tried this twice during these years but for some reason this hasn't captured me enough. So I'll just let this go and find a more enthusiastic reader. :)

I assumed Bookgeo has left this in Kamppi when she was in Helsinki this week but it wasn't the case.
I wasn't interested in reading this so I left it Kamppi.
