Journal Entry 1 by Too-Ticki from Uppsala, Uppland Sweden on Saturday, May 3, 2003
Somehow, I finally and unintentionally own all Discworld novels, and I discovered that I have two copies of this one.

An Ankh-Morpork whodunnit, howdunnit and whatdun, with Commander Vimes (one of my favourite Discworld characters), golems, werewolves, coats of arms, female dwarves and the indispensable Pratchett footnotes.

Journal Entry 4 by Herrundmeyer from Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg Germany on Monday, June 16, 2003
Finally got round to reading it. A Discworld novel without witches, magicians and almost without Death. Nonetheless very much enjoyable and funny.

Released on Thursday, June 26, 2003 at mailed to a fellow bookcrosser in Gelsenkirchen, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany.

In the mail to ArmchairRevolution in Canada. Enjoy!

Update:
ArmchairRevolution is now called Earthdance.

amazon.com's (very brief) review

In Feet of Clay, Terry Pratchett continues the fantasy adventures on Discworld--where anything goes. Anything but murder, that is. Commander Vimes of the Watch must investigate a puzzling series of deaths, with help from various trolls and dwarfs. Pratchett's humor and excellent writing skills draw the reader effortlessly into his zany world. Feet of Clay is 19th in the series. --Blaise Selby

Just received from quietguy; should have time to read it this week (I'm giving final exams; I'll be able to just sit and read for two hours at a stretch!) Will comment more when I'm done, not that I doubt that it will be funny. It is, after all, Terry Pratchett.

Released on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at Post Office in By Post, By Post Controlled Releases.

Mailed off to Estherase - next in the ring.
Fun book! (That's sorta redundant with Pratchett, ain't it?)

Journal Entry 11 by estherase on Saturday, January 3, 2004
Thank-you! It made it through the Christmas post, and is now next on the tbr list. Oh, and Happy New Year!

Journal Entry 12 by estherase on Tuesday, January 6, 2004
Well, it didn't stay on the tbr list for long. In fact, it didn't stay on the cbr (currently being read) list for long either... you can judge from that whether I enjoyed it or not...

(....OK- I did: lots..)

Will be on its way again tomorrow.

Journal Entry 20 by elhamisabel from Frankfurt am Main, Hessen Germany on Saturday, May 15, 2004
What a funny read! This was one of my favourite Discworld novels so far. I like Sir Samuel Vimes very much.

I'll send the book to Babyimran on Monday.

Journal Entry 21 by babyimran from Kajang, Sultanate of Selangor (Shah Alam) Malaysia on Friday, July 23, 2004
Sorry it took me so long to enter a journal that the book has arrived safely. Only today I have just started reading the book.

July 29 - this was great because it mixed a bit of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, CSI : Crime Scene Investigation, and something which I cannot remember now.

Journal Entry 22 by BooksnBeer from Pasadena, Florida USA on Saturday, September 18, 2004
Received this in yesterday's mail. I am looking forward to reading this. Terry Pratchett is an author that I discovered through BookCrossing, and I have enjoyed each that I have read. I have one other bookring in front of this, but I will be able to finish that quickly. Can I hop a plane to Discworld?

Cheers!!

Journal Entry 23 by BooksnBeer from Pasadena, Florida USA on Wednesday, September 29, 2004
Started reading this in the gym this morning. So, what does a Golem do?

Journal Entry 24 by BooksnBeer from Pasadena, Florida USA on Tuesday, October 19, 2004
Finished this in the gym yesterday afternoon. Terry Pratchett, what can I say – I just love the Discworld series. This is the third book I’ve read and each one I love even more. His characters are out-of-this-world (pun intended) and I love that the characters in the book are surprised by the antics of other characters in the book. I love when Commander Vimes goes to get his coat-of-arms and he finds out how they really paint them.

I do have to say that this book had a lot of characters to keep track of and it moved really quickly from character to character, sometimes only a half a page before switching. I would recommend reading this one in big gulps to keep the characters straight. But overall, I loved the book. Terry keep them coming!

Journal Entry 25 by BooksnBeer from Pasadena, Florida USA on Tuesday, October 19, 2004
In the mail this afternoon and I'm once again, trawling (or trolling) the forum for other Terry Pratchett books.

Journal Entry 26 by Leilaht from Highland, Michigan USA on Sunday, October 31, 2004
Received this Friday. I think I may have already read this one, but will read it again anyways.

Journal Entry 27 by Leilaht from Highland, Michigan USA on Thursday, November 11, 2004
I had read this before, but it is still good. I am waiting for an address for the next in line. Have PM 3 times, but can't get an anwer.

Journal Entry 28 by Leilaht from Highland, Michigan USA on Friday, November 12, 2004
I finally got an address. Will be sending it on to Tuz in Brazil.

Journal Entry 29 by Tuz from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais Brazil on Wednesday, January 19, 2005
It arrived safe and sound, thanks! :)

February 18, 2005

One of the funniest of the series, without a doubt :)

It goes next to LAbklvr.

February 25, 2005

Sent to LAbklvr today. Nice reading! :)

Journal Entry 30 by LAbklvr from Lady Lake, Florida USA on Wednesday, March 16, 2005
Got this in the mail yesterday. Thanks! I'll read it soon.

Journal Entry 31 by LAbklvr from Lady Lake, Florida USA on Monday, April 4, 2005
I'm finished with this one, and I know I've had it for awhile now. I'm trying to finish "The Truth" which is traveling along. Should have both books on their way soon.
I enjoyed this one a lot as I do all Pratchett books. Hope the next person likes it too!
Nevermind, I got confused and this book is by itself. I tried to contact Shellyann but got no response so I'm trying cyber-librarian next.

Journal Entry 32 by ReadingGal79 from Antioch, Illinois USA on Tuesday, May 10, 2005
My DH picked this up at the post office for me on 5/5. I'm sorry for the delay in journaling but I've been ill for a couple weeks ... and just now catching up on things. I received this from LAbklvr in SC (along with The Truth) ... as part of a bookray. I hope to start reading it today.

c. 1996 -- 415 pages -- Paperback -- #19 Discworld series -- #15 on BC 2008 Favorites list (series)

Back Cover: There's a werewolf with pre-lunar tension in Ankh-Morpork, and a dwarf with attitude and a golem who's begun to think for itself. But for Commander Vimes, Head of Ankh-Morpork City Watch, that's only the start ... There's a treason in the air. A crime has happened. He's not only got to find out whodunit, but howdunit too. He's not even sure what they dun. But as soon as he knows whatthe questions are, he's going to want some answers.

Journal Entry 33 by ReadingGal79 from Antioch, Illinois USA on Friday, June 3, 2005
I finished reading this today. It ended up better than I expected ... as the Watch hasn't been my favorite in the series. But this is quite comical ... with the situations of the female werewolf and dwarf ... the golem Dorfl ... and especially the pocket organizer "Bingely bongely beep!!" I think more of the characters of Vimes and Carrot now than I did before.

Favorite Quote: (page 220) "Yer son's yer son till he takes a wife, but yer daughter's yer daughter all yer life."

paperback

this book arrived today in a package that was badly torn. There is some cosmetic damage to the book, mostly discoloration along the cut end of the pages toward the end of the book. It still seems readable and I expect to be able to read it and send it along quickly.

Ok, update after reading the book. The book is still readable. There is a place in the middle where the spine is split and one or two pages are partly loose, but a careful reader will preserve the book for future readers.

I'd forgotten how good this book is. Several plots are disturbing the city of Ankh-Morpork. The Patrician, leader of the city, has been poisoned and is ill. Two elderly men have been murdered. There are strange doings among the golems of the city. On top of all this, we learn that Corporal Nobby Nobbs is the Earl of Ankh. There are plots and plans and nasty things, and Commander Vimes of the City Watch has to work his way through them all to find out the truth.

I will mail this to hbrogan on Monday.
