Margaret Cezair-Thompson is a wonderful author with the ability to create a colorful canvas of characters. This book was a very good depiction of life in Jamaica in the 50's through the 70's, with all of the variety of characters and situations islanders may find themselves in. I thoroughly enjoyed it and read it in one day while flying across the country. I highly recommend it if you love to read about other cultures...even the American rich.
