Book Description
Amanda Brookfield's sympathetic, incisive new novel dissects the relationships between sisters.
Synopsis
Beautiful Anna Lawrence, with a successful career in broadcasting and marriage to a wealthy man with a luxurious country home, has everything a thirty-two year old could wish for. Until she finds herself unexpectedly pregnant, too late to do anything about it. Her sister Becky longs for children but her husband, a struggling chef, has told her they have to put family life on hold for a few more years. Anna's pregnancy uncovers fractures in the sisters' relationship going back years, and the ramifications affect everyone in their lives.
About the Author
Amanda Brookfield gained a First Class Honours Degree from Oxford before working at an advertising agency for several years. She wrote her first novel while living in Buenos Aires with her diplomat husband, and her second while in Washington, D.C. She has two young sons and now lives in London and divides her time between writing fiction and looking after her family.
Nothing special, good for a few hours entertainment.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
To Portugal!
To Portugal!
Thankyou so much Yinny. This book arrived yesterday & I´m looking forward to it.
I'm sorry not to write a more in depth review of this, but I actually read it some weeks ago & am only just coming to journal it. Unfortunately, it really wasn't that inspiring a book, & I'm a bit hazy on the details now! Suffice to say that it was good enough to pass my 40 pages test but not worthwhile enough for me to be bothered to look out for more by the same author.
Until I find a new home for this, I'll be leaving it in one of our caravans where our guests sometimes pick up something to read.

A winter caravan clear out revealed that this one has been hanging around all these years. It looks like it's had a few readers in that time.
We're cutting back on guests, so I'll give it another quick read myself then it can go off to seek it's fortune elsewhere.

Second reading, as I only vaguely remember it from first time around!
Not the most exciting or inspiring of stories, but an untaxing and fairly enjoyable read.
It's going into a box of books which will probably find themselves at a boot sale sometime. There's no point in wild releasing books where I live, so it's a good way to find a new reader.
