I listened to this last night, as I was clearing my room out, and I must say it made the task fly like a dream! With wonderful observations and characters, we see the lighter side of Phinn's working life as a school inspector in North Yorkshire. As well as the wonderfully humorous anecdotes, there are also poignant moments showing the humanity of good teaching. Phinn certainly comes across as a very genuine and personable man, and really brings his experiences to life both in the writing and in the reading.
