Of the many books i've read that preports to give a overview of western philosophy I strongly beliver this one to be the best. It is writen with wit and true understanding of what it recounts. Of coarse, as any book, it has its bias(Russell hates all the German system makers, and reminds you so, repeatedley) but for one with a critical eye they detract little from the book.
