Caught on a recent trip to LA when I stopped for a late lunch at the Velocity Cafe. I've read all the Scarpetta's but this one and the one that just came out, so I'm looking foward to reading this one.

This book sat on the TBR pile probably longer than any other book I've received through Bookcrossing, and I feel as if I should be apologizing to someone. Basically, my system is that the humorous books and paperbacks are the books that accompany me in my daily travels, and the hardcovers and major dramas are read at home so that I don't have to carry heavy books and may have some fun when I manage to find a few minutes to read during the day. Thus this book, being a hardcover drama, took a little longer to get to than most.
At any rate, I was glad to read the book. I'm not as into the Scarpetta series as I was when it began, but I still like to know what's going on with the characters. However, I still give Cornwall props for evolving and aging the characters instead of keeping their age and situation the same for the duration of the series.
