This is one of my all-time favorite books; I have read it several times. It chronicles the life of Delores Price, an unlikely heroine who struggles with obesity and mental illness and endures a turbulent adolescence, yet manages to retain her cynical sense of humor. Wonderfully written and full of wit and emotion, this book can make you alternately laugh and cry, even on the same page.
