Oh goody, it's from Oprah's Book Club. What more recommendation do you need? Apart from the fact it's been made into a movie starring Michelle Pfieffer and Renee Zellweger. That's just the icing on the cake, really.
Read this straight after I watched the movie, which I'm not sure is a good thing or not. Found the book itself very powerful and complex - asks questions such as, "what binds families together?" and "can you ever disengage yourself from the past?"
I would recommend both the book and the movie, in whichever order you'd like to read/ watch them!
