It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.My Little Blue Dress

I am surely guessing at the book categoryof this title. I found it calling my name at The Bookshelf Used store in Scarborough in the dollar rack (I still think they put this in the wrong place!)
"A gorgeous girl recalls her coming of age in her tiny, picturesque English village at the turn of the last century. After she opts out of a rural beauty pageant, her life - and its telling - begins to unravel. And it unravels into a multitude of extremely amusing, searingly beautiful strands that eventually lead her, and a trouboled young man who befriends her, through the well-upholstered hellholes of modern Manhatten toward a heartrendering and hugely satisfying climax that will almost literally blow your socks off."

This book started out very slowly. I was unhappy with the accent and the way it was portrayed at first, as it made for a tough read. The story did become much more interesting and I was sad to see it finish in the end. Throws a few unforeseen loops at you, and definately make you want for more. I finished this one very quickly.

The joy of finding a book in the mailbox!! Got today and hopefully will get to read real soon. Thanks for the trade!
Okay Jebbie74 I really enjoyed the first half of this book and got rather lost in the second half! The table of contents was quite unique to start off with. Then the telling of her story through the decades, being addressed as Reader, and her should-have-been-dead-smelly-old-woman recollections. And what's with this Bruno Maddox character. He's the type of guy you just want to slap back into reality!
I think the next Reader may just enjoy this (or hate this) in it's entirety! I'm posting it as a rabck on the forum tonight. I await another journal entry to find the Readers opinion!
