Chapter 1
Do you like the two different points of view, the killers and Kate’s?

I thought it was funny how Kate was talking to Mutt about men!
It was a brutal murder didn’t you think?

I don’t know if I would have been so brave getting Mutt away from the wolf. If I remember right Kate isn’t that big.

Was it his wife that laughed at the killer or was it someone else?

So is Chopper Jim interested in Kate too? I thought he was pretty funny kissing her!

Is the killer deranged? What I mean is more so than regular killers!

I think I want a dog like Mutt.

Chapter 2
Two murderers? I found the dialogue between Bill and Jack a little hard to follow for some reason. Anyone else?

Chopper Jim and the details of his relationship with Lisa Getty was very interesting. Who do you think Lisa Getty really was?

It appears Jack could be a little jealous of Chopper Jim.

Chapter 3
How would hear someone singing over the engine of an airplane? I thought that was pretty funny!

Looks like Mutt will be having puppies too!

If you were Kate would you feel a bit used because Jack came out to give her this case?

Why would you cook a stew, put it outside to cool off and then bring it in and reheat it?

Chapter 4
Didn’t you just love the conversation between Mutt and Kate?

I liked when Mutt caught the screw driver in her teeth too.

I thought it was funny how there was more duct tape on the Naugahyde couch the Naughahyde.

Why would Lottie have just stood there and stared?

I didn’t realize Kate and Lottie were sisters!

If Lottie is so big how can she climb a mountain and be a guide? Seems to me that would be pretty hard on her unless she was just big as in tall and her girth matched her height. I got the impression she was overweight though.

Was Lisa also a guide?

Lottie and Lisa were growing pot?

Was Lottie stone then when Kate was questioning her?

Chapter 5
What did you think of Bobbie’s party? At first I thought he was just on his ham radio and didn’t realize he had company.

It appears a lot of people had been sleeping with Lisa.

Any ideas yet on the killer?

I like how Bobbie doesn’t give up asking Kate to sleep with him! At least he is persistent!

Chapter 6
Glad Kate taught those boys a lesson when those boys were treating the dogs they way they were. I don’t know if I would have knocked their heads together though!

What did you think about the preacher giving a sermon at The Roadhouse?

They must do everything at The Roadhouse. I don’t know if I would want to drink and quilt though!

Bernie made an interesting comment about Lottie, when he said, “they ruined a hell of a man when they cut the balls off her.”

What did you think about the Big Bumper initiation? I wouldn’t have been able to be a member!

Can you imagine how Mac Felt?

Do you think Wu was there to buy drugs from Lisa? Do you think he just wanted a small amoun or all of it?

Who is shooting at Kate in this book? Hopefully it is not another relative.

Lisa was selling rare items too?

Did Lottie kill her own sister?

Chapter 7
Loved the breakfast talk at the table between Kate, Bobbie and Jack. Can’t you just see them sitting there?

Didn’t you love the ladies drinking the champagne and saluting the shooter?

Why did Lottie react to Max Chaney like she did?

I didn’t realize that pot was a big think in Alaska, anyone else?

Do you think Kate sold the Ivory to Wu?

Why did the murderer kill mix Chaney? Do you think this was Lottie that did this killing? Is that where Kate is headed to find her?

I thought Dan was pretty funny until they found Max.

Chapter 8
The Potlatch was an interesting event don’t you think? I really learned a lot.

The scene where Abel stood on the outside of the circle brought tears to my eyes. Do you think he was telling Kate he was okay?

Did you notice the spelling of Xenia name was different in this booK/

Kate and Emaaa certainly don’t see eye to eye do they?

Bernie is sure competitive in his basketball!

Poor Eknaty being seduced by Lisa! Lottie must have been pretty angry about finding Eknaty with her sister.

Do you think Lottie gave Lisa a fighting chance or just shot her?

Chapter 9
Bobbie, Jack and Kate together are pretty funny. What did you think about Kate selling those bladders? Do you think she was right?

I realize Kate has lived in the Bush for most of her life, but would you go after lottie by yourself?

The description of the mountains was wonderful wasn’t it? I could really see them in this book.

I would have been scared to death during that earthquake. Can you imagine being caught in Mutt’s teeth? That dog is very special for sure and a star in my opinion.

Chapter 10
The Northern Lights at the top of that mountain had to have been gorgeous. I can’t even begin to imagine.

I didn’t think Lottie was dead but would she be able to survive in the wilderness for a long period of time?

What about the end of the book and Kate saying, “middle finger for two”? Not me!

I gave this 4.5/5 because I had trouble sometimes with the dialogue and who was talking and had to do some reading over.

This is the second of the series that I have read (not necessarily rhe 2nd in the series)again I
enjoyed it but found it to be too short, definitely need more information on the area and people living there. Will read as many of this series that I can find. Am going to donate this to the library as well.
