1988 UAHC trade paperback of the tale of Jerusalem in the year 70, under siege by the Romans. A Do-It-Yourself Jewish Adventure entry in the series, in which the reader can follow different page paths on his journey. I found this copy yesterday in the Crown Little Free Library in Castro Valley.
Edit May 9, 2024: This was a good little history of a wide range of experiences by common Jewish people who experienced the tragedy, and then took disparate paths for their lives, either resisting, keeping their faith intact, or abandoning it for other lifestyles to varying degrees in a wide range of places. The style is told through the reader's choice format, where you turn to some following page depending on which storyline you wish to follow. But I just read it straight through, so that it plays much like an epic with a multitude of characters in their own separate little dramas. Overall it was an entertaining and informative read, although I did not focus on much of the bits that only have relevance for Jews who are immersed in the jargon and trappings. It runs short, and is for younger readers. I currently have this ranked at #7631 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
