I found this book particularly fascinating and, also heart warming. This book was really heart warming to read in terms of the characters and, what life was like living on the channel islands near France. It really give a really good insight of what life was actually like and, what the residents of these islands had to live through on a daily basis. This book really did give me a fantastic insight into the reality of the people of the island and, also gave me a fantastic insight to the realities of warfare in World War 2. It was a really heart-warming story to read. I would re-read this book again and again.
