Consultant surgeon Tora Hamilton has moved to remote Shetland to be with her husband. To have a family. Not for this . . .
In the peat soil near her new home she uncovers a perfectly preserved woman’s body. Runic symbols are carved into her skin. Her heart has been cut out.
But as Tora begins to ask questions around the island, she receives her first threat . . .

Thank you sooo much!
I have recently discovered this writer, through Bethieb''s WishList, and I was looking forward to reading more of her novels.
Thanks for the tea and cute card... and yes, as you already know, I am the decoy! :)
Congrats on winning the Tea and Thriller Sweepstakes!

I finished reading it some days ago, and for some reason never came round to commenting it.
Well, it's not what I expected. Good, but not a page-turner. In fact, I plodded through the final chapters. Maybe it could have done with some editing.
On the plus side, the plot is original and quite interesting, and there are some cinematographic scenes... I mean, you can really SEE what is going on there.
I watched a film based on this novel some years ago, with Radha Mitchell... and haven't found it since in any platforms, not even in Amazon. I remember it was quite good.
A quote I liked:
"At the end of the day, if you believe something deeply enough, it becomes a kind of truth." (I couldn't agree more.)
Time for this book to continue travelling...
