This is the third book my Anita Shreve that I have read and I was so glad that it picked up a character, Thomas James, from The Weight of Water, my favorite of her books that I have read. I found it to be constructed in a very interesting pattern, and it was absorbing, a beautiful love story, very sad, as the best love stories often are. Not as good as The Weight of Water, but way better than The Pilot's Wife.
