'Winner of the William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award.
In 1938, a small crooked-legged racehorse received more press coverage than Hitler, Mussolini, Roosevelt or any other news figure. His name was Seabiscuit. He had become the most unlikely darling of the public thanks to an improbable meeting of three men. Together, they created a champion.
Surviving a four year run of ill fortune, they lifted Seabiscuit from the lowest levels of racing and transformed him into an international sporting icon.
Now an international bestseller, Seabiscuit is an inspiring narrative of betting and winning against the odds, a classic tale of three embattled individuals who overcame the Depression and captivated the world.'

Bought when the film was released, around 2001, and read just the once I think. Unearthed from my un-Bookcrossed shelves for the my partner in the letter and book swap.
My partner is Glitterbee and this book is on her Wishlist.
I will write the letter and get this posted off to Germany in a week or so.

My Dad called me today to tell me the book and the letter arrived yesterday. So I haven't read the letter yet, but I made my Dad open the package to give me the BCID. He will also send the letter on, so I can read it soon :) The book I will take back with me next time I'm in Hamburg. (I was sure I gave my Mainz address for this letter exchange, but apparently I didn't... getting old...)
Thanks a lot though, for the book and I am really looking forward to reading that letter of yours :)
