A typical Crichton book, fun and gripping, as long as you don't read it too critically. Crichton is pretty good at extrapolating from current scientific research to develop vehicles for his stories, but his characters aren't well developed, and tend to be the same from one book to another. Jurassic Park is a thrilling ride, and is definitely better than the movie (which had to be carried by the special effects, IMO).

I'm sending this to kristamd as part of her massive RABCK to rural Vermont. The nature of this RABCK means that it is unlikely to be journalled again, but this is such a good cause that I don't care. I hope this book finds a good home and helps develop the love of reading in someone.
