Publishers once again deserve shooting. In the UK they published a book called legends. In the US they published it as three volumes. I saw legends 2 and 3 and hoped they were new books, but they are part of the one I already have.
The stories are all good, and a handy way to test new authors before trying a whole sequence.
The book is available on SF-books.com

Journal Entry 4 by girl-penguin from Richmond upon Thames, Greater London United Kingdom on Tuesday, February 20, 2007
I received this in a science fiction book box from Suedo in early 2006. I haven't had a chance to read it and am now clearing my shelves in preparation for a house move, so I was thinking about giving it to a charity shop. But I see from the entries below that it was first registered in Missouri. I'm going to Missouri in March to visit relatives so it seems appropriate to take it back with me!
