Journal Entry 1 by vuurhoutjie from Grahamstown, Eastern Cape South Africa on Thursday, December 11, 2008
A fragmentary story with narrators exploring identy, belonging and death. The narrators are concerned with art and representation. Living in Lebanon, memories from Lebanon and living in exile are central to the novel as well, as are gay identity and Aids. There is a strong indictment of Israel's ruthlessness towards neighbouring peoples.
