More of a horror novel than a crime novel. Combo of an eco-thriller and a monster movie. Too many sadistic villains for my tastes in this one. It is, at times, stomach churning when describing what the parasite does to the human body. And just for the hell of it there's an incident involving a second type of parasite - that odd little Central American fish that swims up the... I'll stop there. The Russian hit woman was one of the most disgusting fictional creations I've come across in quite some time. This is why I like to stick to the old dead writers who know when to draw the line in terms of human depravity.
