I promised myself that I'd read this book before I saw the movie and boy am I glad I did. This has got to be one of the best written novels I have read in a long time.
I started reading this on my way to work on the train every morning and found myself actually wishing that the train would break down so I could finish reading it! You can imagine my frustration when the train arrived at my station when I was 27 pages from the end.
I won't go into a boring summary of the book but I will say that it offers a refreshing take on life itself, not saying life is good or bad but admitting that we will all die eventually and it is the small moments, the occassional hour that defines our life on this rock.
I'm dropping this off at StarBucks opposite Wynyard Station on Monday (17th) morning around 8:05am. Hope someone waits there for me to pick this up!
