Hard Man

Very violent so far, but fun. The Edinburgh locations make it more interesting, seeing as this is my adopted city.
Finished. Some of the characterisation was a bit confusing, but otherwise pretty good. A very violent ending; not for the faint hearted.

Not my normal type of material to read as I have a horror of violence. Still, I found it surprisingly easy to read. Very well written, very dark, with black humour, extremely violent continuation of the story of Pearce. I think I preferred this book to the earlier one (Two Way Split), somehow it seemed more mature. The violence once again was very 'Japanese comic strip' style, most of the characters rather thinly outlined through the story and the ending pure horror movie material. Interesting to have read both books but I can't see myself searching out more of these to digest.
Packed up ready to return to anitaliberty when I get to the Post Office.

This arrived in the post on the Thursday 9th of August so I''ve been reading it swiftly to pass back to anitaliberty today and to do that I shall have dash swiftly to the extra meeting the Edinburgh bookcrossers are having today to welcome visiting bookcrossers to the International Book Festival 2007.
...shall return here later to pop in my thoughts on the book...
