Intricate and entertaining . . . A delicious puzzle." The Boston Globe
The murder is in America, but the call goes out to Scotland Yard superintendent Richard Jury. Accompanied by his aristocratic friend Melrose Plant and by Sergeant Wiggins, Jury arrives in Baltimore, Maryland, home of zealous Orioles fans, mouth-watering crabs, and Edgar Allan Poe. In his efforts to solve the case, Jury rubs elbows with a delicious and suspicious cast of characters, embarking on a trail that leads to a unique tavern called "The Horse You Came In On" . . .

This book just arrived in the mail. Tack så mycket! It (and the little bookmark as well) was a wonderful surprise :)

Finished it already! The setting of this mystery was different from the usual Inspector Jury mysteries, and the clash of cultures made for some amusing scenes. Melrose as a writer was also fun, but overall I didn't enjoy this as much as some of the other books.

Finally, the book is here... It had to wait at the post office for several days because we were not at home when it arrived.

23. 12. 2009:
I finally managed to read this book. It was an acceptable read, but I did not enjoy it as much as other books of this series.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

The story was more about literature than about a real case, surely not my favourite Jury novel. Left it at the hotel's "book table" which looked like an unofficial bookcrossing zone although I didn't see any BC books there.
