One of his early novels. If you enjoy this you must read Love in the Time of Cholera
After a little bit of an eventful journey (nearly two hours to get to Potters Bar from Hemel Hempstead) I obtained this from Maggieg, thankyou very much!
This is the December/January bookclub book, so it will be read soon.

Well.. I have to say that I didn't really get on with this at all.
This is the next bookclub choice and I've never hated being made to read a book more. It's a confusion of names, the story of several generations of Buendias and their oddnesses. I'm not really sure what the point was. Overall the plot meandered through the family members, each one dying as another one took centre-stage, with their incestuous relationships and desires to lock themselves up for rooms in years with no outside contact.
Odd. Glad that's over.
Not decided what I will do with the book next.

Posted as an RABCK!
Received this book in the mail this week, thank you so much! I have a few books to read before this one but really looking forward to it. Thanks a lot abrokenstarr!
It took me an awful lot of time to get into this story but I am glad I read this book! I only started really enjoying it when coming towards the end as it was getting easier to know who was who as there were no newcomers; I am still not sure I would be able to say what happened to whom, but I think it was definitely worth reading.
How can any writer make their lives that difficult though!!? :o)
Thank you abrokenstarr for sending me this book!
Will think about how to make this book travel a bit more and shall update once I have made a decision!
