Very enjoyable read especially if you are on holiday, or wishing that you were. It is more of a rollicking adventure story or traveller's yarn than a real travelogue, and it is not clear how much of it is really true but this hardly matters to the reader. The author and his companions move through Asia: India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, where they end up stealing a yacht and getting shipwrecked (and one is killed) off the shores of Australia. They cheerfully lie, steal, make and peddle drugs, get involved with the Thai Mafia, freeload and commit arson. So it is hardly a moral lesson, but entertaining for all that.

I finished it on the plane to Las Vegas yesterday, and will try to find somewhere suitable to leave it here.
