I was not at ease with this book. I liked the characters, the plots, the scenery. But it seemed to my the book was written in haste. Sometimes an awful lot happens in four sentences, and four pages further the writher still goes on about a very little thing. The title is badly chosen to my opinion. However, I will go out and read another book by Patrick Gale, but not right now.

Joehoe! Het is er, or should I do this in English, just in case the next reader..., etc. So, yes, the book arrived, this morning, looking absolutely great! You seem to read like me, very carefully! ;) I started it already, but only some 20 pages so far, so once I finished it I'll be back to let you know what I thought. Thanks loads for sending it! And do have a good and bookfilled 2003!

Sorry, heb het al een dag of wat uit, maar kwam hier maar niet aan toe. Tja, ik had een beetje hetzelfde gevoel als met Gale's "The cat sactuary", het verhaal is best aardig, maar ik vind z'n schrijfstijl niet leuk. Hier en daar vind ik het gewoonweg zwak geschreven. Hoewel deze wel iets beter is an die andere. En ik denk niet dat ik nog iets van hem ga proberen.
Wel hartstikke bedankt dat je dit boek naar me toe gespeeld hebt Ina (en Willemijn...). Trouwens, Jelle is een goeie vriend, hij is hier veel, zag het boek liggen, etc. Als hij het uit heeft gaat het echt de wijde wereld in.
