I feel that this book is for teenagers and adults. It has a lot of profanity invovled with the characters and some sexual content. This book is about two teenagers who love each other but break up and leave one another. But when the girl leaves the guy follows her and finds her and ask her to marry him. At this time the male character, Jimmy, finds out that Christy, the female character is pregnant. Jimmy was in the army and his father died so he is a little messed up in the head. Christy was a nurse who JImmy got pregnant and runs off to be with her family. The whole book is about these two and their journey through life. The two get seperated because Jimmy goes to prison and then Christy goes to the hospital because she thinks she is loosing the baby. After this on Ash Wednesday, Jimmy is freed of his duty to the army and from jail, Christy is also released from the hospital. THe book is then ended with a quote, "We were about twenty paces apart. I could barely see with the ten thousand thoughts racing through my mind. She shrugged her shoulders and gave me a faint smile, placed both her hands on her belly, and without speaking she nodded her head yes." I will not tell you my interpretation of this quote, but you will have to read the book to find out what it means. I feel that this was a very well written book and I suggest for anybody to read it.
