Its in the style of "The Di Vinci Code", with the story of a Archeologist and FBI Agent tracking the path of four men who storm the Metropolitan Musuem in NYC dressed as Knight Templars on horseback during a gala opening of an exhibition called "Treasures Of The Vatican". The men take a seemingly pointless and vaguely described exhibit and leave one beheaded security guard.
What is their motivation behind this daring raid?
The agnostic archeologist and strongly catholic FBI agent join forces to discover the truth, a journey that will take them farther than either could have predicted - or dared go before.

I don't think I'm going to be reading this again, so making it available for someone else to enjoy.

Won by Blackteiwaz in Costa Rica in my latest RABCK.
Awaiting an address and then will be posted off.

To update, the blurb on the back reads thus:

''It has served us well, this myth of Christ.'
Pope Leo X, 16th Century.

1291 AD, Acre. As the city burns under the onslaught of the Sultan's men, the 'Falcon Temple' sets sail, carrying a small band of knights and a mysterious chest entrusted to them by the Order's Grand Master. The ship vanishes without a trace...
Present-Day New York. At the Metropolitan Museum, four horsemen dressed as Knights Templar storm the gala opening of an exhibition of Vatican treasures and, in a brutal and bloody attack, steal an arcane medieval decoder.
For FBI agent Sean Reilly and archaeologist Tess Chaykin, this is just the start of a deadly game of cat and mouse as they race across three continents, trying to stay one step ahead of ruthless killers while chasing down a centuries-old mystery...'

Borrowed from blackteiwaz, going into my TBRs!

I really liked the Da Vinci Code, so I was expecting to enjoy this one, but after weathering 430+ pages of mediocre writing, I can't even lie: the story was predictable and only mildly enjoyable at times, the characters were flat and unbelievable (as an archaeologist, Tess behaved appallingly and her mothering skills were even worse), and the plot contrived and irritating. The only saving grace is that there was enough action to keep me reading.

Giving back to blackteiwaz.

Okay, read this one for the second time and had a great time the second time around! I think the key is to read this for what it is -- a Da Vinci wannabe bubblegum action novel. I liked the action scenes, even if the ending was a bit (a lot) predictable.
