This historical fiction book, is about the life of "Bloody" Mary Tudor, oldest daughter of Henry VIII, and his only child with his Catholic first wife, Catherine of Aragon. When her father broke with the the Pope and the Catholic Church to marry Anne Boleyn, she saw it as her destiny to bring England back the Catholicism, ultimately commencing in the Inquisition being brought to England.

I found this to be a good introduction to Mary, and how her relgious beliefs colored everything that she did. I found it to be a good book, but not great. I would like to know more about her, but from a historical point of view, not fictional.

In BC synchronicity, right now in the sidebar, JenLuvsBooks just caught a copy of In the Shadow of the Crown!!
