I'm adding this book to my TBR list. It looks like it might be good.

After leafing through the book and reading a few random chapters, I decided this wasn't a book that I could get into. It might be the subject matter. Anyway, I gave it to one of the other members of The Rubber City Book Posse.

Rec'd at RCBP meeting. Yay! It looks good, but I have to catch up on a few rings before I can try it out (of course, I'll probably start it and finish it before I do that, though).
Thanks Carmen!

Who is ultimately respsible for a crime--the person who pulls the figurative trigger or the people who stand by and let events happen which lead to the crime?
This is the question Lee Martin asks in The Bright Forever. This is a lovely, though disturbing story, takes place in a small town in Indianapolis in the 1970s and tells the story of the disappearance of nine year old Katie Mackey through the eyes of the people intimately involved in her life and her disappearance.
Really great book, reminiscent of "The Lovely Bones."
Giving to A from the RCBP. Thanks!

Gothamgal's description is quite good. I did enjoy this book. But, it was in that uncomfortable way in which you see something and you feel embarassed and pained for the person who you are seeing. The main character in this book seemed to have a lot of those moments that we all sometimes have where you must take action and you're not sure what to do and once something is done or not done you can't take it back. I may release this book in Columbus or somewhere in central Ohio this weekend.
