The Trail Home (Pine Hollow No. 2)
2 journalers for this copy...
A nice, breezy read. I remain uncertain if it's her style that's limiting her prose or her assumption about what a teen reader's vocabuary is (compared, for example, to Harry Potter the writing within Pine Hollow seems dumbed down a bit). Still, Ms. Bryant seems to have gotten a bit more comfortable with these girls in the real world.
Bad things happen and the repercussions seem accurate and honest. Internal dynamics within the strained "best friends forever" relationship are well done, if a bit obviously related.
