I picked this book up on a whim on the Public Library's Book Express shelf, and was pleasantly surprised. The plot revolves around the desperate attempts of a twenty-four year woman in New York city to find a job in a non-existent job market. Girl is a likable and engaging character, but most of the people she has to deal with are shallow, dishonest and sleezy. Vividly highlights the moral bankruptcy of the corporate world and how easily a person can get sucked into the swamp of sleeze but the lure of a pay cheque and the easy rationalizations: "It's only a job." and "If I don't do it they will just get someone else to take my place."

An entertaining read. I will check out their first book, THE NANNY DIARIES.

This was a library books so I won't be releasing it.
