The Corset Diaries

No woman in her right mind would consent to wearing a corset for a month. Especially a "skinny-challenged" woman like myself. But dreams of being debt-free danced in my head when I received the offer to appear on a reality TV show. A Month in the Life of a Victorian Duke is about real people - like me- pretending to live on an English estate circa 1879.
Received for Intrycksflikka's M-Bag. I will probably be mailing it in the next month or so.
I am waiting for a couple more books for Intry. So since I had heard so much about this book I decided to read it. I was somewhat disapointed, especially after all the hype.
I like the storyline, I liked the fact that the heroine was 39 and a big girl. I hated some of the words the author used like gak, or gah or nummy that has to be the worst ever. All the other people ine the house or the secondary characters part of the story kind of annoyed me, they weren't interesting enough for me to pay too much attention to. Finally what was up with the sister? I think that should have been addressed more. I guess it was just a let down for me.
Looking foward to seeing what you think of it Intry. Thanks Fam for sharing with me (even though it wasn't planned) lol. Although I didn't care for it so much, I was glad for the chance to read it.

I've been on vacation for the last two weeks. When I came home, I found a note saying that I had a letter waiting for me in the PO. Got a real surprise since I found out it was the M-bag. :) Thank you to both FamFatale and Apolonia!

Even if it was a enjoyable book, I was missing something. Can't put my finger on it yet, it wasn't as gripping as I thought it would be or then I wasn't in the mood. I'm usually not into historical books, but on the other hand this wasn't historical.
Sending to sunlightbub as part of the euroexchange. Should have sent it a couple of months ago, I'm sorry about the delay!!

I like the fact this will be a quick read so I should be able to get it moving again soon!!

This has now got a couple of loose pages but still readable so off to Camis as a Ballyswappers extra!
I really enjoyed this one. As previous journallers have said, the main character was 'skinnily-challenged' and in her late 30's - for some reason this helped me empathesise with her more. Wasn't that convinced by the lust/love at first sight, but you kind of know with this kind of book how it'll all turn out in the end, so this didn't detract to much. Definitely worth a read, and I'll look forward ot the other katie mcallister books on my tbr..Thanks for sharing xxxxxx
