"Anthony Peardew is the Keeper of Lost Things. Once a celebrated author of short stories, now in his twilight years, Anthony has sought consolation from the long-ago loss of his fiancee by lovingly rescuing lost objects - the things others have dropped, misplaced, or accidentally left behind. Realizing that he's running out of time, he leaves his beautiful house and all the collected treasures to his unsuspecting assistant, Laura, the one person he trusts to fulfill his legacy.
Recovering from a bad divorce, Laura is in some ways one of Anthony's lost things. But when she moves into his lovely old Victorian mansion, her life suddenly begins to change. Anthony's final wishes set in motion a most serendipitous series of encounters as Laura sets out to realize Anthony's last wish: reuniting his cherished lost objects with their owners.
With an unforgettable cast of characters that includes a teenage girl with special powers, a handsome gardener, a fussy ghost, and an array of irresistible four-legged friends, The Keeper of Lost Things is a heartwarming read about second chances, endless possibilities, and joyful discoveries." (from back cover)
William Morrow paperback 2017. 278 pages.

This was quite a charming read with some good old-fashioned romance, happy incidents mingled with sadness and grief, and a bit of (silly) magic thrown in here and there. I liked it being set in a world of books: Anthony was a writer, Laura had once dreamed of becoming one, and another story line, with Eunice and Bomber, dealt with a small publishing firm.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
The book was chosen from the Book Buffet of the International BC Unconvention in April and started its journey to the new reader today. Enjoy!
Coming home from a long journey for once no bills in the mail box, but this book. Thank you so much,Paulanni, for sending it to me and including some book labels and re-use labels.
Even though it‘s not a complicated or long story, it took me a while to finish it. Maybe not the right time for me to read such a story, especially as I‘m not a fan of ghosts or magic. But anyhow I‘m thankful for having had the chance to read it.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I will leave this at Busfrö in their free library by the entrence. If you like second hand stores you should really go all the way up and have a look. They don´t have adult books but they have books for children, clothes for everyone and other stuff. since they sort everything themselves everything is in good used quality.
A bit messy.
