English Passengers

Kneale wrote this book in about 20 different voices. All unique and fascinating to read. The book succeeds on several levels. It's great historical adventure fiction, it's a study of prejudice disguised as academia, and it's literary enough that the English teacher in our book club is adding it to her high school reading lists. I recommend this one.
I'm mailing this one to a fellow bookcrosser tomorrow.
Just received this book in the mail from fellow BookCrosser JennyO. Looks good--thanks, JennyO!
This was a wonderful book. Thanks, JennyO. Told from point of view of many different characters, the story unfolds over time and place and comes together to give you a detailed snapshot of early Tasmanian history. The author has gone to great effort to provide the perfect ending that neatly ties all the loose ends up. ** Note ** Find a map of Tasmania to refer to as you read the book. I'm releasing this book to my husband because he loves history and I just know he will love the book. After that it will be released to a friend.
I haven't read this book because my wife just released it to me. She says I will love the book. We shall see.

This was a wonderful book I received in a trade from JennyO. I've saved it for a special friend who just joined BookCrossing. I'm releasing this for my husband.

I have not yet read The English Passengers by Matthew Kneale. I'll be back with a journal entry once I've finished it. It comes highly recommended by the good friend who released it to me.
