While visiting Rome Julia Ansdell buys a old book of music and a handwritten song call Incendio waltz as well only to find that once she gets home and starts trying to play the waltz it seems to have a very negative impact on her young daughter.

Julia is determined to find out the origins of the music and along with an interested friend she travels to Venice where the composer Lorenzo once lived. They find a museum curator who does the know what happened to Lorenzo and his family during the terrible years of Nazi occupation.

This was an interesting look at history told through the music and I enjoyed it.
