Some kind soul left this for me in my LFL.
7 1/2, pretty far-fetched plot and poor character development. Fast paced but there are some truly ridiculous moments.

I would give this 3.5 if that was allowed. I checked out the sample of this on Kindle because it was $1.99 and was quickly hooked. Unlike many Kindle books, it quickly got even better. I was a little worried at comparisons to Sweet Potato Queens because I don't like Southern stories that get too hokey. However, this one had just enough touches of the South (weather, iced tea, small town gossip) to be enjoyable without going all Sweet Magnolias on you. The story of a woman whose husband leaves her with no warning and how she and her slightly kooky best friend plot revenge hooked me in right away. You root for Mary Bliss as she tries to keep her life going with no husband, no money, no clue what went wrong and a sullen teenager to boot. The author created many memorable characters and I was intrigued to see how it all played out. This is a great light beach read or summer reading. Fun!
