Extended Profile
Introducing The Vegas Veg Library! Knowledge is power!
At some of our events we'll bring a box of books and DVDs.
The books and DVDs will be:
* vegan cookbooks
* vegetarian cookbooks
* raw uncook books
* animal rights theory
* animal welfare theory
* gardening books
* diet and health books relating to vegetarianism, veganism, or raw food
You can "check out" a book from the "library." You don't need a library card. Trade a veg-related book for one in the box. Or trade your veg-related DVD for one in the box.
You can also, of course, simply donate veg-related books to the library for others to take or exchange.
Don't have a book to trade? That's OK. Just borrow a book from the library on the honor system. Promise to bring it back or give it away to another person. Just don't keep it.
Most books will be registered on BookCrossing so we can accumulate reviews, notes, and track their travels when they leave the "Library."
Some examples of books that are or have been in the library are:
+ 101 Reasons Why I'm A Vegetarian by Pamela Rice
+ Vegan: The New Ethics of Eating by Erik Marcus
+ Animal Liberation by Peter Singer
+ Diet for a New America by john Robbins
+ The Greens Cookbook
+ The First Macrobiotic Cookbook
+ Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser
+ March of the Penguins
+ Supersize Me
+ Skinny Bitch
If you're unable to attend our events to use the library, consider finding veg related books at your local city library or used bookstore.
