Welcome to the Science Fiction & Fantasy Library!

Our Aim
The Sci-Fi & Fantasy Library (sf-f-library) aims to collect and make available hard to find, large collections or out of print sci-fi and fantasy series beginning with some personal favourites -such as Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, Piers Anthony's Xanth series and Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series- and later expand our collection with other popular fantasy titles such as Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time or any other fantasy collections suggested by you. Eventually we hope to branch out into Sci-Fi too but we want to take baby steps first. This way others can also satisfy their curiosity about rarer titles and we can introduce our favourite authors to others, increasing their audience and who knows maybe even the number of fans egging them on to churn out another title in that wonderful series. Ideally we would run a spiral for each series separately but with the number of books in Pier's Anthony's Xanth series being 34 and still writing it would take years to get a sensible spiral going and so this is not really an option.

Important Note
We are starting this project with books from our Personal Collections and these books' details will be altered to reflect that. Please treat those with care as we hope to eventually be able to send those books back home but we are happy to share our beloved books with you until we have found others to replace them with.

How it Works
The library will be dependant on donations if we are to make this project a succes so we hope all you sci-fi & fantasy lovers out there are willing to help us get this project off the ground.

Don't forget to make a controlled release to us, this way when we catch the books they will be on the library shelf and easily searchable for others.

We would ask that you hang on to the book until it is requested. If you want it off your hands immediately you can also send it to a librarian (hopefully we will have librarians all over the world). If you keep the book for us until it is requested and you are concerned about postage costs when it is asked for we will look for someone closer to you to pass it on for you.

PLEASE DON'T RABCK OR WILD RELEASE THESE BOOKS!

If we have asked you to send out a requested book, we will make a controlled release to the person who requested it. They can then catch and journal it. This is more work than keeping it on our shelf and simply changing status, but it ensures that when you donate a book you do not miss out on the BookCrossing perks of tracking our books' travels and being notified of Journal Entries.

If you want to request a book from the library please check our shelf for books with the "available" status. Please note that due to postage costs a book either can't be sent straightaway or it would have to be sent through a librarian or other helper. Books with the "reserved status" have been requested and are being held until the current keeper is able to send them. If you want a book that currently has the "reserved" status you can still request it, but you'd have to be patient because it might take quite some time to reach you, depending on how many other people requested it before you did.

Please try to finish the book in a month at the most. It is our wish that anyone may take a book out of the library but please make sure that you only take out what you can read and keep in touch if you have any problems.
