I've loved to read for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories is sitting in front of the next door neighbour's kids bookshelves - a treasure trove of Dr Suess and other authors. Every week my treat when out grocery shopping was choosing a Little Golden Book off the revolving rack in the supermarket.

And now at 41 I still enjoy losing myself in a book. I particularly enjoy memoirs. However, there's nothing like a piece of good fiction. I remember reading "Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone" on a long haul flight and thinking - "gee, she either went to one of these schools herself or she's done a lot of research to get all this detail right!" JK Rowling had me entranced! It wasn't until I was finished reading the book that I had a chuckle at my thoughts on her "research" of Hogwarts!
And it seems I'm not the only one to be impressed...
“Rowling has a way of making the wildest, most whimsically unlikely conventions and scenarios seem utterly plausible, of creating a world so convincing that you don't even stop to question the existence of flying broomsticks and invisibility cloaks.”- Chicago Tribune

I belong to two book clubs.
One that grew out of a local playgroup which I helped found.
And the "cyberbookclub" I started in May 2007.
Go to au.groups.yahoo.com/group/cyberbookclub/ to see what we're reading now - you might want to join us!

I look forward to my first release in the wild. As well as taking part in release challenges, bookrings and RABCKs.
