I am an eclectic reader, making selections from a variety of genres although I will often focus on one particular author or one particular topic for a while. Recent favorites have included www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368?... target="_blank">Winning Sounds Like This by Wayne Coffey, www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368?... target="_blank">Sunburned Faces by Jeneil Palmer Russell (my niece's college roommate), www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368?... target="_blank">The Coming Plague by Laurie Garrett, www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368?... target="_blank">Dragonfly by Bryan Burrough, and www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368" target="_blank">Sick Puppy and www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368?... target="_blank">Basket Case by Carl Hiaasen. I'm working my way through John Sandford's www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368" target="_blank">Prey series. I picked up William Lashner's www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368?... target="_blank">Fatal Flaw at the Geneva Metra station and enjoyed it enough to pick up his www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368?... target="_blank">Hostile Witness of the same "Victor Carl" series -- both now have BCIDs and are being released.

A long-time favorite is www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368" target="_blank">Watership Down by Richard Adams. Two of the most intriguing books I've ever read are www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368?... target="_blank">The Making of the Atomic Bomb by Richard Rhodes (and, to a lesser extent, his H-bomb sequel www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368?... target="_blank">Dark Sun) and www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368?... target="_blank">The Path to Power by Robert Caro, the first in his (eventual) 4-volume biography of LBJ.

My daughter introduced me to the www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368" target="_blank">His Dark Materiels trilogy by Phillip Pullman; targeted to young adults, it has been compared to Milton's Paradise Lost and is a surprisingly rich, sophisticated, and dark set of tales given one's expectations for the target audience. And oh, yes, she's also had me read the entire www.amazon.com/---/104-5089854-3290368" target="_blank">Harry Potter series and we're both awaiting the next volume.

www.stcswim.com" target="_blank">Swimmers rule! www.eyso.org" target="_blank">Violas rock!
