Once, I gave Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino, to a friend setting out to travel the world. I said, this is good for a traveler, but I request you sign it, then give it to someone else you meet along the way. Tell that person to sign it and give it away after reading it, too.

For years, I have happily pictured that book circulating places in the world I could never imagine, just like the book's hero Marco Polo.

Now, I shall start other books on their journey.

I have so many. Some to cherish, some to share.

I especially love old, out-of-print books on obscure subjects.
