Extended Profile
I was always one of those strange children who spent playtime reading, went shopping with my head firmly stuck in a good book (or Bunty magazine...), and as a punishment I was never grounded - my book was confiscated and I was forced to be sociable. So
I guess I've always been a bookworm, and damn proud of it!
Generally, I can be found in the young adult section of Ottakars, as my favourite authors are: JK Rowling (kinda goes without saying, I'm a huuuge HP fan!), Phillip Pullman (His Dark Materials trilogy), Eoin Colfer (Artemis Fowl & The Wish List & The Supernaturalists) and Garth Nix (The Abhorsen trilogy was brilliant, as was The Creature in the Case, and the Keys to the Kingdom series is equally fab - eagerly awaiting the publication of The Ragwitch in paperback!)
On the rare occasions I venture into regular fiction, chick lit is easy-going (currently reading the Shopaholic books by Sophie Kinsella), and I'm rather partial to any crime/psych thrillers (think James Patterson, John Grisham, James Herbert) or a good book by Dan Brown. I'm also planning to read Perfume by Patrick Suskind... looks very interesting.
So thats me in a nutshell. Or more accurately, a box of type.
